Where I'm from, where i've been, and where i'm going
Howdy, I'm Bailey Dixon a 22-year-old singer-songwriter raised in the rural farm town of Donalsonville, Georgia. My love for music was discovered early on, as I began writing before I could even hold a pencil, singing my songs so much that I'd memorize every word. Writing and performing music is something that I have always been very passionate about more than anything, and I am so blessed to have done as much with it as I have.
At thirteen, I was inducted into the Alabama Music Association where I was recognized as AMA's Most Promising Vocalist of the Year in the Young Female Country category. I received a nomination for my first North American Country Music Association International award. I went on to win Future Star of Tomorrow at the tender age of 15. I have since then been fortunate enough to have been honored with many International music awards In the Songwriter, Vocalist, and Entertainer categories.
I won the North American Country Music Association International Award for Female Horizon Vocalist of The Year for New Country, and I was then inducted into the North Carolina County Music Association. I also received International nominations for Female Entertainer of The
Year and Female Songwriter of The Year for New Country at the age of eighteen for my first original song recorded, titled “Case Closed”. I left having taken the prize in both of those categories, which was very hard to believe because "Case Closed" was my first original song ever to be released, and the simple fact that I originally threw it away when I wrote it at band practice and, my friend tackled me to pull it out of the trashcan.
I released my song "Georgia Love" alongside "Case Closed" in 2020 as an experiment, I knew little about the writing and recording industries at the moment, but sometimes the best way to learn is to try and go from there. You never fail unless you learn nothing from the experience. The songs did well around Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College where I went to school, and allowed me the opportunity to perform my songs and more at the ABAC Alumni House.
At the age of 20, I won Rising Star Female
Entertainer of The Year, Horizon Female Vocalist of The Year for New Country, as well as
International Female Songwriter of the Year for my unreleased Traditional Country song “Colt Lightning.” At the age of 21, I was inducted into the Georgia Country Music Hall of Fame for my songwriting, and shortly after that, I was awarded a rare "Official Supporter" honor from the North American Country Music Association International for excelling in the work I've done in country music. I also took home Horizon Female Vocalist Of The Year.
I have been performing live for many years bringing the country sounds of a South Georgia girl to big cities and small farm towns ranging from Miami, Florida, to Tennessee, East Georgia to Mississippi, and every mile in between. I've written over 2,000 songs, and I cannot wait to show you all what new songs will be released this year! I've taken every opportunity to grow and get my work out there because I truly love my job! I love getting to take something away from the places I perform and the amazing people I get to meet. I believe there are songs all around us in life and nature, and we just haven't written them yet. It's my life's mission to do just that.
I'll always be thankful for the old-school county radio that played as a child, and the lasting impression it has on my life today. I have many sound and writing influences old and new including but not limited to The Judds, Johnny Cash, George Jones, Bobby Bare, Jamey Johnson, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Zach Bryan, Joe De Messina, Reba, Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood, and Jennifer Nettles. If it weren't for those artists paving the way and dedicating their lives to country music I might not have connected to it the same.
I write and sing these songs because everyone needs healing and to sometimes learn a hard-lived lesson the easy way. Healing looks like tears to some, distraction to others, relatability to a number, a laugh to few, and a renewal of faith in your heart for all.
This year will consist of single releases, music videos, live full band and acoustic shows, writers rounds, radio play, some wonderful media interviews, and opening the "No Regrets Tour" for Ronnie Call!
Thank you for checking out my page and showing interest in my work! It takes a village to raise a singer/songwriter, and I can certainly say I have been blessed with the best one! There are no small people in this village, I appreciate you all. I owe every last person who has supported me to this point, and in the future, because this would not be possible without y'all!
I couldn't stop this runaway train if I tried! Here's to many more miles traveled together! Join our mailing list to get the first look at exciting new projects my team and I have coming down the pipeline! God bless!
